Utilities, Inc. Takes Two Big Steps Forward

January 8, 2007 - Northbrook, Illinois (January 8, 2007) - - Utilities, Inc. (UI), a national water and wastewater service corporation, is proud to announce the appointment of John Stover as General Counsel and John Williams as Director of Governmental Affairs, two newly created positions. Stover joined UI on January 2nd as General Counsel. He began his career as an attorney with Amoco Corporation law department in 1980 and held a variety of senior legal and financial management positions with Amoco and its successor, British Petroleum. Stover left BP in 2002 and later served as Deputy General Counsel for the State of Illinois, Central Management Services. Since January 2005, Stover has been VP, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of Propex, Inc, a worldwide manufacturer of industrial fabrics. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BBA in economics, a JD from Georgetown, and an MBA from University of Chicago.

Williams joined UI on January 8th as Director of Governmental Affairs. He brings with him more than thirty years of experience in the regulation of water and wastewater utilities at the Florida Commission. He was a Senior Analyst in the Florida Public Service Commission\'s Office of Strategic Analysis and Governmental Affairs. He has testified and made recommendations in hundreds of utility cases and was responsible for the Public Service Commission\'s water legislative program. Williams has frequently made presentations on behalf of the Commission at the Florida Legislature. Williams is a graduate of the University of Florida with a BS Degree in Business Administration. Williams has been active in many professional associations including the American Water Works Association Rates and Charges Subcommittee and is the former Chairman of the NARUC Staff Subcommittee on Water. He has also served as faculty on the NARUC Eastern and Western Utility Rate Schools.
