Charmar Water Company Announces Water to be Supplied from Lake Michigan
NORTHBROOK, IL. – November 4, 2008 -- Utilities, Inc. (UI), a national water and wastewater service corporation, and its subsidiary Charmar Water Company, announce the interconnection between their water main and the Village of Waukegan’s water supply, thereby bringing Lake Michigan water to the customers it serves. This $200,000, 3-month project prevents the need for more expensive rehabilitation of the aging water infrastructure that has contributed to low water pressure and variable water quality some customers have experienced in the past. “This was the best solution that promised a win-win for the customers of Charmar Water Company – lowest cost paired with improved quality and reliability”, said Jimmie Johnson, Midwest Regional Director for Utilities, Inc. Customers began receiving Lake Michigan water through the Village of Waukegan water system on October 16, 2008.
